Good to know
How do I add a voice memo?
Use the share menu in the app that contains the recording and choose Mono. You can also open Mono and import an audio file from Files. Shared files need to be in a supported audio format.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Supported Apple on-device models are free, and you can use your own OpenAI API key without paying for Mono Plus. OpenAI bills usage on your own key separately. Plus unlocks Mono Cloud, which works without setting up a key.
Why isn’t on-device AI available?
Apple speech and Foundation Models support depend on the device, system version, language, and model availability. Check the availability information in Mono Settings. You can choose a cloud option if on-device processing is unavailable.
Where are my recordings saved?
In Mono’ local library on your device. Tap a card to reopen a recording and swipe it to delete. Deleting a memo in Mono does not remove the original audio from another app.
How do I cancel or restore a purchase?
Open iOS Settings, tap your Apple Account, and open Subscriptions to manage a subscription. Use Restore Purchases in Mono with the Apple Account used to buy it. A Lifetime purchase does not cancel an existing subscription automatically.
Why is processing taking a while?
Long recordings, selected models, and network conditions affect processing time. You can enable API progress in Mono Settings for more detail. Diagnostic output may contain your transcript or replies, so review it before sending it with a support request.
Can I use Mono without sending audio to the cloud?
Yes, when your device and language support the required Apple models. Choose the on-device processing options in Settings. Read the Privacy Policy for the differences between processing modes.
